Protective Security Guide for Chief Security Officers

Today we launch the electronic version of the Protective Security Guide for Chief Security Officers (CSOs).

The PSPF tasks CSOs with the important role of providing strategic oversight of their entity’s protective security arrangements across the four security outcomes:

  • security governance
  • information security
  • personnel security
  • physical security.

The guide provides an overview of the PSPF and the CSO role, as well as questions to consider and suggested further reading.

Sarah Chidgey, Deputy Secretary Integrity and International Group, recently wrote to the CSO of each non-corporate Commonwealth entity and provided them with copies of the guide.

This guide is another way we are meeting our commitment to support CSOs. Other ways include:

  • Chief Security Officer Forum – timing for next forum is dependent on COVID-19 restrictions
  • CSO Newsletter - issued every two months to CSOs and generic security email addresses
  • Communities of Practice.
